Hello, I'm new to this website. I need help buying the right gaming laptop, I want to work on it, game on it, and use it for schooling. All around something that can replace my desktop. Not that Im going to, just want the same or superior experience.

I currently have a gaming setup with three LG 1080p 21.5" screens, AMD FX 4350 Quad Core Processor with 4.20GHz, 8GB DDR3 Ram, HIS Radeon R9 280x with 3GB, and a 1TB hard drive.

I've narrowed down my choices, to the 2015 Alienware 15 with the UHD option and Touch Option, the 2015 Alienware 17, the Lenovo Y50 UHD, and Lenovo Y70 Touch. My Budget is $2500.

I prefer the larger 17 inch screen, but I am interested in the 15 inch 4k option. Im not sure whether 4k is really worth it at this point of time understanding, that no laptop can truly run demanding games in 4k.

I read about the alienware graphics amplifier and was curious that if I got the 17 inch alienware that was 1080p and got the graphics amplifier would I be able to hook it up to an external 4k display and game in 4k? Having issues choosing. Any input would be great. The price is quite a lot lower for the Lenovo set but I wanna know whether alienwares increased graphic power is worth spending close to another grand. Thank you!

Just checked it out it looks awesome. The only issue I think I have with this is that its docked on top instead of through cables.

wait for a while and get a laptop as gaming on 4k is just lagg waiting to happen ,you need a gtx titan to play a game on 4k ,you need two titans to play crysis 3 on hd and well there will be laptops with better pcie lanes coming out as well as better processors/graphics to push 4k .
