I am currently looking at two laptop and I can't decide between the two. The reason for this is because I am unsure whether to buy the laptop with a better processor (according to benchmarks) or significantly more RAM.

The two laptops I am looking at are:

Intel Core i3 4005U CPU - 12GB RAM - £349

Intel Core i5 4210U - 4GB - £379

I will be using the laptop for multitasking (with a lot of tabs and applications open), programming, watching live streams and some gaming (Portal, Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Garry's Mod). So which laptop would suit my needs better?

12gb ram is overkill you'll never use it.
The Acer has Bluetooth & what I would consider the better keyboard.
The Asus has a far better processor plain & simple though ,that's where the extra money is going.
Windows 8 can get along fine in 4gb ram.
You could do with seeing one in the flesh - some people will just not get along with the chiclet type keyboard on the Asus.

Hello! I would highly suggest you go with the better CPU. I CPU is normally soldered in place in laptops, so it's really hard to upgrade. The ram on the other hand can easily be upgraded. Hope this helps :D
