Well the FX6100 CPU is getting fairly old now and I want to get better FPS on very CPU intensive games such as ArmA 3 (http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1986449/arma-low-fps-mulitplayer.html) Long story short I want to know how to overclock my CPU safely and the ideal settings i should place it at.

Solution
It has an unlocked multiplier. The easiest way is to simply increase the CPU clock multiplier in BIOS. You would want to disable Turbo first, then increase the multi by a click at a time. Save and exit BIOS. Boot to Win and run a stress test like Intel Burn Test ( http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4965-intelburntest.html ) for its default 10 pass run, while watching temps. If all is good, you can go back to BIOS and increase the multi another click, and repeat. Eventually, you will have an unstable OC. At that point you can either back off, or increase the CPU vcore (VID) a tiny bit and see if that stabilizes your OC. Repeat or quit. Here is a good guide for OC'ing the FX line of AMD CPUs...
