When I originally bought my GTX 690 three years ago, it was the best card out, yet within a relatively short period of time it was limited by its 2Gigs of usable Vram.
I've been looking into the GTX970, which seems to be the best buy right now at around $350.
It seems to have better specs all around, except for the CUDA cores, which honestly, I don't know how they change performance.

I am looking for conformation regarding whether or not it's really worth upgrading. Should I wait and save for an even better card, or do people think this will last a while. My goal isn't playing in 4k at the moment, just a solid 1080p at 60 fps on Ultra settings. Sadly, it seems like most to the games coming out are poorly optimized, even for that.
