upgrading my amd cpu and motherboard to an intel cpu and motherboard

I am sick of amd and am switching to the i5 4690k with a msi z87 motherboard. I know how to replace the hardware i just dont know what i will have to do to get my computer to function off of the same hard drive and operating system without having to purchase a new operating system. any help would be greatly appreciated

Is the copy of windows you have a retail copy you bought? If so use the discs to do a fresh install.
If the original PC/Windows is an OEM (HP, DELL, Acer, etc; you need to buy a new copy of windows as the OEM version is tied to the
original mobo.
