The overclock is unstable. Try bumping GPU voltage a bit and try again.
Are you completely sure?
because the HD 7950s apparently have a guaranteed OC of at least 1 Ghz on stock volts, and I don't really want to mess with this stuff that much considering my PSU is only a 650 Watts LC Power
Where do you see that 7950's have a guarenteed overclock? No card has that really. Stock is 800. You are already oc'd 80mhz at 880.
Yes but that 80 Mhz came from factory
Also, why did the OC initially work with the games but on the second time around crashed?
Because watch dogs maybe pushed it further than the other games did, or in a way the other games didn't. Either way, going from 880 to 1000 is not a good idea. It's way too high. Considering your card is reference at 800, factory overclocked to 880, it probably do much better without watercooling, good vrm cooling, and maybe, then maybe, you can hit a 1000. Did you monitor any temps during this, or just crank the slider on the overclock software to max and see what happened. That's not the way to overclock. It's a tedious process of going 10-20mhz at a time, intense testing for stress and heat, and repeating until you get a crash but good temps still, then try uping voltage and going again. Be happy with the 880 and the the fact that it's already 10% oc'd.
