It's been my current project to build an external graphics card for my dumb laptop. I've actually managed to get it semi-working, which is really nice, but it has a problem of crashing (i'm assuming its the GPU crashing, due to the screen freezing, going static, and off color. Please correct me if I'm wrong.) I've noticed it only does this under a heavier workload. I can due small tasks with ease, but trying to run a game (the reason I'm doing this, ironically) causes a crash...
I do not think that it is due to the PSU... I think it's either a driver conflict with the integrated graphics or the card is just bad... Any help at all is appreciated Thank you in advance!!
System:
-Windows 7 64bit
-Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo @ 3.07GHz
-2Gb RAM (Had to take a stick out due to memory allocation problems...)
-Integrated Graphics: Mobile Intel Series 4
-External GPU: ATI Radeon HD 3870 x2 (powered with a 650w PSU)
