Hi, I bought an Asrock motherboard, but the colors didnt match my red/black color scheme ( it was blue) I put some red electrical tape over the power phase and z97 chipset. Is this okay? I didnt put it on anything else such as heatsinks, connectors etc

Still probably not a good idea. The metal heat sink for the chipset relies on local airflow to keep the chipset cool. Electrical tape is not only an excellent electrical insulator, it is an excellent thermal insulator as well.

It's probably a bad idea to cover the VRMs in electrical tape. Those generate quite a bit of heat and need to be air cooled.
