My PC is randomly restarting while playing games. The screen goes black instantly as if I had just pushed the restart button usually mid-game. Mostly happens when playing an intensive game. I don't think this is due to overheating since when I monitor the temps they sit around 60-65 Celsius. Sometimes after it happens the PC will then quickly restart again a after a short time even when not playing games.

My suspicion is a PSU issue, since I have recently upgraded my graphics card and this did not solve the issue, but before I go out and buy a new one I want to get a second opinion.

PSU: Corsair TX650
GPU: GTX 970
CPU: AMD 8150FX
MB: Asus 990FXA-UD3

What was added or removed in your system recently? If you did add or remove something, did these shutdowns happen after? Also your PSU in terms of quality is tier 2 class A, great PSU and 650w is more than enough for the card.

Only thing added was GPU and problems had been happening before. I agree that it's a good PSU but it's the only thing I can think of. Not sure if maybe I need a faster CPU?

I'm afraid it is most likely your PSU, I pretty much have the same exact problem as you do when my settings was too high, just shuts down without any warning at all, I had the Corsair AX1500i, Corsair's best PSU ever made, so it doesn't mean it can't be defective even if it is high quality. It has been doing it since the beginning which was July and I never thought it was that until I recently built my new PC, now I have the Evga Supernova 1600w P2 and the problem is gone.

I was messing around trying to fix it and decided to change the RAM slots, was able to fit in a few rounds of COD:AW without any crashing. Not sure if this is just a fluke or it did the trick. For some reason after I re-seated the RAM my PC shows having 6GB when I actually have 2x 4GB sticks installed, maybe this has something to do with it? I have a few sticks of RAM lying around so I might swap a few around and see if it fixes.
