This is my personal build that I just pulled the trigger on last week.... getting the parts delivered to me one day at a time.... sucks waiting.... I dont have a dedicated HDD on the list because I have one already at home and currently going to use my tv as a monitor for the next month or so till i get the monitor.

This is a Micro Atx Build .... a little smaller than a full atx motherboard and usually smaller cases ~ you either love em or hate em.

If you're not into over clocking you could do something like this:

Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card ($339.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Fractal Design Core 1000 USB 3.0 MicroATX Mid Tower Case ($34.99 @ SuperBiiz)

Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer ($14.98 @ OutletPC)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($89.98 @ OutletPC)
Case Fan: Cougar Vortex PWM 70.5 CFM 120mm Fan ($14.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Case Fan: Cougar Vortex PWM 70.5 CFM 120mm Fan ($14.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $931.98

$1000 before rebates. If you are interested in OC, then probably get the 4690k, a Evo 212 cooler, and a Z97 series board instead and that will prob bring the total closer to $1100 overall.

all compatible and ready to go
SLI ready, all you need is a second GPU in the future.
SSD is also recommended as a future investment.
