Memory type confusion please help.

So my PC's memory type is DDR3 and I want to buy a DDR5 graphics card (GTX 660) will this work?

P.S I know very little about PC components so if this question is really stupid then I'm sorry.

Yep, the graphics card will work. Graphics cards have their own dedicated RAM so there will be no interference.

to get right memory you wanna find out what model of your motherboard and cpu thats (on they website there is memory support list) two important hardware,graphic card have nothing to do with that.

Your main DRAM is DDR3 on your MB, graphics cards have their own memory on the card, GDDR5 on the card your getting. They work separately and have nothing to do with each other.
