I recently put together a new build, and got the msi GTX 970 gpu. The computer boots up fine when I plug my monitor into the motherboard, however when I insert the driver disk to install the gpu, it does not recognise that the gpu is plugged in. The gpu is working fine, both fans and lights are on, but if I plug in the monitor to the gpu it doesn't even turn on. Please help :/

Solution
Try using different ports from the gpu. If it doesn't work see if all the pci e connectors are properly connected. If it doesn't work even after it, try and use the gpu in a different machine. if it still fails, you know who the culprit is!!! Good luck!!!

wait hang on, did you say you plugged your monitor into your motherboard? I can see why you are having problems if thats the case. you need to plug your monitor into your graphics card instead. the motherboard monitor connector is for integrated graphics in your cpu only.
