Hi I recently built this computer using this spec http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/DeadpoolsBFF/saved/wfzp99
The computer has worked fine expect for a pretty significant problem that has occurred since I built it a couple of months ago. It seems that sometimes if I plug in a USB device I get a BSOD with the error KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE restarting the PC. This has also happened at random times when I was playing a game and just a minute ago when turning on my monitor's sound. I ran a Windows Memory Diagnostic finding nothing but I also tried running chkdsk on my SSD which caused a BSOD with the error CRITICAL_SERVICE_FAILURE which made me perform a restore on the PC the three times I tried it.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be?
Thanks for your time, Joe

Solution
very hard to tell the cause without looking at the actual memory .dmp file
for usb related problems it is often very useful to change your memory dump type to kernel or full rather than mini dump. More info is stored in the .dmp file and the windows debugger can be used to see what the issue is.

in general with any USB related bugcheck, you would want to update the BIOS, update the CPU chipset, update any usb 3.0 chipset drivers and then update any specific USB device driver (with a focus on any wireless ethernet driver, just because of known issues)

I would also remove any special USB charger app for apple devices, some of the older versions tend to corrupt system memory. Some versions of Razer overlay drivers tend to corrupt...

Its the Graphics card. Is your graphics card AMD? After the updates last year I started having this problem. I have a duel boot Win 8.1 and 7 do I know its a hardware issue because its happening on both OS's. There is no fix unless you can get the original drivers for your card.

I guess I would also run
cmd.exe as an admin
then
sfc.exe /scannow

to confirm my core files are not corrupted.

or
dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

to get a clean copy of any corrupted file (if you have windows 8.x)

Turns out it was the keyboard of all things... Reinstalled the driver for the keyboard did all the other stuff as well but it was the keyboard that fixed it all in the end. Thanks for the help my friend no more blue screens now :pt1cable:

Hi all, i bought an acer Aspire V3-772G with windows 8 pre installed, sometimes some of these errors used to pop up just a few months after i had bought it.
then i upgraded to windows 8.1 hoping it would get better. it didnot.-it just got worse; i couldnt open windows store, pc settings... googeld a few things which didnt work. i called acer community, they told me to reset the pc to factory settings, i did and it worked for some good days without problems, then i could open the windows apps. this time i upgraded to windows 8.1 and all the apps are working perfectly, but last night this error popped up for the first time in a long time. should i get worried?
what could it be? i hope no more blue screens come up, because before the reset, IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and the like were very commong errors.
