why does intel have 2 cores at 3.8 and the others at 3.7/3.6?

as the title asks, i went to save a profile at stock with no overclock and noticed this, and in cpu-z it also only goes up to 3.7ghz instead of 3.8 as advertised. any idea why they do this? just curious

You need to run a program that uses a single core while the other 3 are not used.

Under the turbo boost settings, the bios will push the cpu cores a little higher if only one is used (single thread). If two cores are used it will supply a little less voltage but still more than with all 4 running.
