BIOS Update causes Windows 8 to Crash

I recently completed a build with the Z97 Pro board. I'm getting frustrated by these BIOS tweaks. I have tried using the BIOS to set of RAID and to do an initial overclock but each time has resulted in a reinstall of Windows (8). I got a notification of a BIOS update and did the update. Crashed again and could not boot up. Should I start thinking about sending this board back?

then you wanna set boot from CD in BIOS and repair Windows from CD.

Generally, when you do a bios update, it loads all the default setting, therefore, if you had made changes in bios, it would 'lose' them, which *could* result in a crash, especially if the raid was config'd in bios.

It boots to Windows but can't complete the startup and tries to do an automatic repair. The repair does not work and then says it has to restart. That is where it bogs down. I guess I will try to reinstall Windows.
