Im scared of blowing my pc up by over clocking ha. I have a water cooler though so it shouldnt be an issue. I use all cores when playing BF4, I used core temp to monitor it. So just to be clear my card is fine? The graphics score is good?

Looks fine to me. I got to pay with a system with an i7 4790k i believe and a gtx 970. The score wasn't a whole lot higher than yours i think it said it was faster than 87% or 89% systems. So you're basically in i5 territory sounds like. Overclock a bit and see where you come out but looks ok. And also if you look the 780ti is actually a little better than the 970.

almost bought a 780ti for this build but I figured with driver updates and etc the 970 would only get better

best i got on firestrike graphics score was 11959 with my 780. i think my firestrike overall score was 9805 with my 2500k@4.4ghz.

battlefield 4 and amd do not play well together...

I have an amd 7790 XFX in one of my systems. Its a budget card, but it was decent. Ran BF4 on medium with an avg 60fps. Lack of software made me switch to nvidia for this system. I'll be switching to intel next cpu wise.

ah, so i guess mine arent bad. I have an i5 2300 laying around, ill try it with that cpu at some point and see how much I gain or maybe lose(I doubt)

if you have a sandy bridge i5 laying around, use that for gaming for sure. whatever its clock speed, it will game no different than a brand new overclocked 4690k.

if you need the fx 8 core for non gaming apps, grab a cheap case and some ram and a hard drive and make a second computer for it.

overall yes they are roughly equal. the i52300 will pass up the fx 8 core in lower thread counts, but the fx 8 core will rocket past the i5 in highly threaded apps. gaming counts toward lower threads and the i5 will be better.

my minimum fps on that extreme benchmark @ all stock speeds was 29 fps on the i5 4690k and the gtx 970
goes to show the i5 does not dip in frames like an AMD. Those dips are gonna give lots of stutter in Games

my bad this is a different thread. this was the heaven benchmark i'm talking about. lol
