Specs: Motherboard: ASRock 990FX Extreme9 (990FX EXTREME9)

Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 (220-G2-0750-XR)

Wireless Adapter: Hawking Technologies HWUN4 (http://hawkingtech.com/products/hi-gain_wireless_networking/_usb_network_adapters/hwun4.html)

OS: Windows 8.1 Pro

Problem: I can't connect to the internet with my newly built computer with the above adapter. Google Chrome says that it can't connect to the DNS server. When I run the Windows Network Diagnostics, it says "Windows can't communicate with the device or resource (primary DNS server)". Going into my router, I see that the device is in fact connected. What is wrong with the device or network?

Ping tested with from a connected computer to the computer that will not connect and the request timed out and I got a 100% loss. Same would happen from the disconnected computer to one that is connected. I then pinged from the connected computer to my android phone, and I got a reply with 0% loss.

I would try that, but it's pretty late and some people are still using the router. Is there anything else I could try, or maybe you know of any good wireless USB adapters for Windows 8.1?
