Hello All,

I have a router setup at home and everything is working correctly. We have telephone line at our home but we are not actually using it. I want to use Internet at multiple places at home. So I presume there are two ways to do it,

1. Connect to Wifi
2. Connect to Wall Socket

Wifi is working fine but I want to also explore the other option. The problem is all our wall sockets at RJ11 and not RJ45.

My router's all outputs are LAN outputs. So my plan is something like:

Connecting some cable/converter (with RJ11 male and RJ45 male) to one of the LAN output of router and the RJ11 wall socket near to the router. In this case cable/converter should convert signal from RJ45 to RJ11.

And then connecting some cable/converter (with RJ11 male and RJ45 male) in hall's RJ11 wall socket (or any other room where I want to access Internet) and then access Internet from there. Here converter should convert signal from RJ11 to RJ45.

Is this kind of conversions possible?

Thanks in advance.

Not possible with standard home telephone wiring, unless your home has Cat5 cable homeruns to a central location where you could add a network switch.

You can't have multiple jacks fed from a single point. Each jack must be individually connected to a port on a switch in order for Ethernet to work.

You might consider powerline adapters for additional connectivity throughout your home.
