Need help please about wifi adapters!

Im building a new gaming pc for the first time, i already got windows 8.1, are the wifi adapters that are compatible with windows 8 work with 8.1?if not what should i get?

anything that was written for windows 8 will work under 8.1 (8.1 they brought back the start button). it the same os under the hood. some vendors will have updated drivers. if not look to see the chipset used to make the wifi adapter and download the newest chipset driver from the chipset vendor.
