There are faint horizontal lines across my screen during video playback or video games

My pc has got:

  • GTX 780
    i5 4670K
    8GB ram
I'm using a BENQ RL2455HM and it's plugged in using a DVI cable.

As said in the thread title when I'm playing games or watching a movie and there is fast movement there are faint lines across the screen that disrupt everything they go through.

Anybody got any ideas? I'm so frustrated with this problem and it really ruins playing games for me. Thanks in advance.

You need to try your PC with a different monitor and your monitor with a different PC to isolate where the problem is.
It could also be the DVI cable,you might want to try a different one.

I teasted it on a different monitor with a using a VGA to DVI cable and there were no lines. It looks like the cable that came with my monitor was abit duff. Thanks for the help!
