My Build

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64
MB: Biostar A960A3+
CPU: AMD FX-8350 8 Core 4.0Ghz
RAM: 8.00 GB
GPU: NVIDIA Geforce GT 610 1GB

My PC was having a memory leak so in a fit of "nerd rage" did a fresh install of Windows 10 preview build. PC worked fine except for bugs in OS. So did another fresh install of Windows 7. After research, found out that Skype was my problem. So I unistalled it. Original memory leak went away, that was using 80% of my ram. Then I noticed audio distortions with video/mouse lag. If I restart my pc, everything is fine for an hour or so. Then the distortions and lag come back gradually getting worse until its unbearable. Then I restart and the process starts over. I've searched everywhere. Everything seems normal. I'm used to troubleshooting and never had a problem that I couldn't fix one way or another. Now I'm stumped. I don't want to do a fresh install due to that I am limited on space and don't have the money to buy a decent hard drive. I'm at my wits end here. Any help would be appreciated. Any questions just ask. Thanks,

I had a similar issue and it turned out to be a misbehaving blueray disc drive. Power the machine down and unplug the sata connector from your optical drive(s) and let it run awhile.

My issue turned out to be a DPC latency issue caused by an issue with the drive. If your is also a latency issue if may not necessarily be caused by your CD-rom. To check your DPC latency check out this utility:

I actually have had my Windows installation cd still in. And after I posted this, I took out the cd and restarted. If it doesn't work, I'll try your idea next. Thanks for the quick reply.

Edit: Didn't work. Still lagging.
