I'll be replacing my R7 260x tomorrow because of stability issues, bad drivers and a bad card(lesson learned - I won't buy AMD cards again). Of course I do my own research and I was surprised as the 750 1GB benchmarks are similar to the R7 260X Watch it here, benchmark starts at 1:32 http://youtu.be/nfIyvY0MEpo. The 750 1GB is impressive and comparable to the 260X while the 750ti is slightly better. So is it worth getting the 750ti? or should I get the 750 1GB. My specs are i3 4130 8GB ram, 600watt power supply, gigabyte h81mds2 mobo and a 1080p monitor.

If you're buying a new GPU, I'd recommend going up the chain and not making lateral moves. If your budget only permits lateral moves, the 750 ti better, no questions there.

Also, what have you done to fix your issue with the 260x? AMD used to be notorious for bad drivers but most of those issues died in early HD 7000's series. The r7 and r9's have very stable drivers now.

I've tried increasing fan speed, increase power limit, tested all the drivers starting from 13.12, 13.2c, 14.1,14.2,14.4,14.6,14.7,14.9, 14.12 underclocked memory clock, underclock core clock, tested card with friend's good power supply, used another dvi cable, reseated ram, reseated gpu, replaced it, added side fan on my case, raged at it while pulling my hair screaming, applied thermal paste, cleaned it once every month, disabled ulps at msi afterburner.. This has been going on since I bought it last february 2014. All the blood rushes to my head with frustration with this card. I've given up on this and learned my lesson with amd products. If you're interested, read the thread here. A LOT of people are having problems with the card. http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2089881/sapphire-260x-black-screen/page-9.html
The 750ti looks like a good choice, is it futureproof?

I see. Well it looks like you've done your homework on the 260x.

The term "future proof" is 100% an opinion based on the games played and the performance desire. The 750ti is a mid ranged GPU. It's not going to be able to play modern games on High/Ultra settings @1080. If that doesn't bother you, you'll be fine. As for longevity, again, opinion. Maybe 2-3 years. I stand with my previous statement, you should be looking to go up in performance. Nvidia is supposed to release the 960 GTX in Q1 of 2015. I'd expect the 950 to follow soon after. Once the 960 comes out, you can bet the 760 GTX will drop in prices.

Personally, it's not enough. I enjoy the eye candy. I have a 770 GTX right now (just over a year) and I'm thinking on selling it just to buy a 970 GTX. I understand most people can't do that.
