r9 295x2 only utilizing 4gb vram instead of its 8gb

when in game i noticed on GPU-Z that the vram being used only went up to around 4120mb when previously it went up to its full 8240 gb

any help?

The R9 295X2 is the same as using 2 R9 290Xs in CFX. They just have an internal CFX connection. The memory still acts the same, it is 8GB total but it is split between both GPUs and each GPU has 4GB to use so it is still as if you only have 4GB of total VRAM (even if a game says 8GB it is actually 4GB).
