Whirring/scratching noises from new hard drive

My old Hitachi hard drive was dying so I bought a new Toshiba drive and replaced it, while the old one was in bad shape I never heard any sounds coming from it but I just started using this one and I can hear a whirring/scratching noise I never heard before (by the way I'm certain it is hard drive and not the fan or any other part of my laptop) it doesn't sound constantly, I can only hear it sometimes and it's not very loud I tried to record it but it's not audible on a device. Edit: I was able to record it. http://vocaroo.com/i/s0o8s79nqPNd
I was able to record a louder noise I hear sometimes http://vocaroo.com/i/s0onbdADoKh4
it only sounds once and not very often, I did hear this one in my other hard drive as well.

I tested the drive with several tools and they all say it's working perfectly, and I haven't had any problems while running Windows, I'm just wondering is if it's normal to be hearing this because the hard drive is very new.

So I used another laptop that also had a Toshiba drive and it makes the same sound, since the drive has been working fine I'm going to say Toshiba hard drives are just a bit louder than Hitachi's.

Hey EndlessMidnight. Perhaps it's just as @PizzaTheHutt said, but I'd also recommend that you download the manufacturer's HDD diagnostic tool and test the drive whenever you have any suspicions that something might be wrong, just to be on the safe side.

Hope that helps.
