I have 16GB of RAM. Is there anyway I can change this into dedicated video ram? Seeing as I don't need that much RAM. Unless they are 2 completely different things? Sorry I'm new to this. If you can't do that, how can I increase my dedicated video memory? and does it harm my computer?

Specs:
Processor: AMD FX-6300
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7700
RAM: 16GB
Motherboard: ga-78lmt-usb3

Can you please let me know step-by-step how to increase my dedicated video ram? Thanks

Not possible on modern video cards. More than a decade a go there were some graphics cards that didn't have their memory soldered on and you could potentially add more, but that's not the case on modern cards. In any case the Radeon HD 7770 really isn't fast enough to benefit from more than the 1GB of video memory you have now.

The only time system RAM is used for video memory is if you are running Integrated Graphics, and with those you can sometimes tweak the amount of memory that will be reserved for the IGP in the BIOS, but Integrated Graphics isn't fast enough to really benefit from a lot of memory so there usually isn't any reason to allocate more than 512MB to it.
