Hi, looking to spend somewhat less than $300 for a new desktop build. Mostly for work and media. I have thought up some builds but they seem to be overkill for a work machine, passing the $400 mark.
So i'm looking for suggestions. Thanks!!

if you have a local micro center they have the g3258 and mb for 100.00 combo. your going to spend about 80.00 for 8g of ram and 60.00 for a one tb hard drive. evga 600b power supply are on sale with rebate and you can find cheap cases. the other cost is os. look on newegg for there combo deals. the other cheap deal look at factory refurb pc online.

What do you think of this?

The build seems great. However, Is it really ok to pick the A10-5800K over something like an A8-7600? I had guessed the newer one would do somewhat better, while costing nearly the same (despite the difference in clock speed). However i'm no expert on this performance-wise so I can´t tell the difference. I'm guessing the idea here is that the A10-5800K would be superior when OC'd, right?

You are absolutely correct. The A8-7600 is slightly better at stock than the A10-5800K at stock. However, if you overclock the A10, it can surpass it in performance. It also seems to have a slightly better IGPU than the A8.

So it really just boils down to this. If you wanna overclock, go with the A10. If you don't want to overclock, go with the A8.

Alright, In that case i'll stick to your build, with the exception of maybe picking a different case. I'm ok with overclocking, so i'll keep the A10. Thanks!
