Hey guys, I've been playing a few games recently, and noticed that I get a LOT of stuttering. My GPU doesn't pass 30% load, either. This is just to last me until I get the money for my new components.
Could anyone possibly assist me in overclocking my q9400 on my dg41tx mobo? I can give a cpu-z if needed. Thanks in advance,
Oliver

Hello,

Yes unfortunately the Core 2 Quad CPUs are really at the end of their life. Even the Phenom, Phenom II, and 1st Generation Intel Core series CPUs have all lasted a very long time, but after 5+ years their really starting to fall behind. I would be happy to help you push your CPU up as much as you can, but since CPUs can change a lot in their features and controls, in order to help you it would be best to take pictures of all pages of your BIOS and post them here.

The basics of it is to find the FSB setting and increase it, making the system faster. However, you need to watch your RAM speed also cause usually this increases too unless the motherboard has functions to run them separately. Doing this you should be able to get a small increase, but may not be much. Then you would need to adjust your voltage settings to go further, but your motherboard may not let you do this.
