Hello,

I am thinking about getting the MSI R9 270X Gaming edition graphics card. I'm gonna start by listing all of my computers specs.

  • Power Supply: 450W - I do not know the exact model but if someone asks I will look it up.
    CPU: AMD A4-5300 with a Max TPD of 65.2W - 3.5GHz
    Motherboard: FM2-A55M-E33 (MS-7721)
    Memory: 8GBs DDR3 Single Channel - 1600MHz
    Current Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7480D - 844MHz - 768MB (I know, it sucks)
Can my computer run this card? I mean is the power supply enough?

Thanks,
Gabriel Gulla

for safety purposes get a 500 watts true rated 80+bronze psu from the following brands. thermaltake, corsair, xfx, enermaxx, evga and seasonic. (450 watts is enough depending on the brand of your powersupply and its 12v rail) - and also the r9 270x requires 2x6 pin power connector so make sure you have that available in your powersupply).

the a4-5300 is a dual core APU processor it will run it but will most likely bottleneck the card and will not let it perform on its fullest - but it will be a huge upgrade over the integrated gpu.

make sure to disable the integrated gpu on your bios so it won't eat anymore ram. - select pcie/dedicated and not igpu/integrated in your gpu bios option.

Depends on if you are looking to upgrade in the future.
If you are i would go ahead and get a 700+ because anything nodays needs that. Mide as well spend a little more once than buy 2.
