hey there peoples,

I have had a worry, and this is in short about watchdogs and Far Cry 4' now before you walk out the room, let me explain:

basically i keep lagging i mean i sort of fixed it on both games although it still occurs on far cry 4. Now both were fixed , roughly, after turning down my texture detail, and other stuff on watch dogs however (both maxed with exception to texture and one or two things).

Heres my question, do i not have enough vram for these fairly new games at 3gb or is it just bad play from ubisoft, i mean watch dogs is good but although its stunning far cry is still hitching here and there and i worry whether i need the extra 4gb of a 980 or am i still good with 3gb, please help sorry for how vague this is im tired right now lol

And im playing this at 1080p, anymore info just let me know

It will only be dual channel with 4 sticks as well as 2 sticks. You'd have to get a X79 or a X99 board for more than dual channel memory. Dual channel will give you some more FPS but the main benefits is more bandwidth. Helps your CPU processing. If you think your CPU is bottlenecking the GPU, more memory bandwidth should help.

When I got my GTX 970, the first game I played was farcry3. My comp would start flaking out a few mins into the game and would soon freeze up. Lowering the video settings helped. Then a light went off in my head. I checked the system power settings and it was set at "balanced." 2 cores were parked. I set it all the way up which made sure that all 4 cores and all 8 threads were firing all the time. Now...

Yes of course I have hah and my GPU's power setting and not to mention I put it on single monitor mode which is the setup I have. I have a 4440s soon to be upgraded to an i7, 1 8GB stick of ram at 1600mhz soon to be adding another stick of ram of the same specs. Also the motherboard I have is this one: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H81MA/

its a shitty motherboard granted but hey it gets the job done :)

Just to clarify like with a misunderstanding i have with terminology, when you say dual channel thats when it has 2 sticks of ram yh? and 4 sticks would make it quad channel? is this correct :) just checking.

And in regards your reply, how shall this help? :) i know this stuff, its just ram is a hole in my knowledge sorta :) also it does haha but I have heard a lot about the issues with ubisoft games like with optimisation etc so does this contribute as much as I think it does or is watchdogs sorta fixed now? And in your experience how well optimised is Far Cry 4?

:)

Optimize your comp.

What is your internet speed? That might be part of the problem too. (www.speakeasy.net) is a good speed check.

Oh okay thats interesting, well I don't have 4 slots, only 2 as it is a micro ATX board. Oh I see, lol I must read up on RAM, like seriously :) Bottlenecking happens to be one of the worries I had about my PC and I even started a forum on it on this site. Since I do A LOT and I mean a lot of editing, I am going to get a more powerful CPU,(in particular the i7 4790k, I mean I like to have the best possible) not to mention the need for RAM as only today my PC actually crashed because I set sony vegas to use 6GB of my 8GB at the moment, although it's fine now as I reduced it to 4GB, which so far is fine. ( I have an 8GB stick sitting ready to be added, not to mention a 6TB WD drive ahah and the i7, I will have the ultimate editing masterpiece and my actual dream machine once they are in haha)

And to answer your final paragraph, I have ensured everything is maxed, I mean, my CPU is only supposed to run at 2.8GHz (4440s i5) however when system power is on default it goes stupidly low, like under a Ghz, although when I have it firing on all cylinders, it turbo boosts to an awesome 3.14Ghz as of now, which is pretty good for games!

But to wrap things up, am I good for watch dogs and Far cry? :)

Oh I see ahah hell it does, just got BF4 running again and OMG online at ultra is beautiful, love it! Crysis 3 looks amazing but surprisingly uninteresting to me on the story etc.
