The speeds that I get with my powerline adapter, connected to my router, are worse than my wireless connection. I tried connecting my powerline adapter straight to my modem , but my PC said that the connection did not have the correct IP Configuration. I was wondering if there is any way that I can fix this. Thank you.

If you were to plug your PC in directly to the same port with the same cable (instead of the powerline adapter) do you get the same error? If yes then your modem doesn't have DHCP enabled. Connect to the modem and see if it has DHCP capability, if yes, enable it.
