A: are micro atx mobos substantial for gaming? eg. games like Wildstar, League of Legends, Skyrim

B: Is 550w enough power for a decently higher end video card on a micro atx/ can the micro atx handle higher watage power supplies?

Solution
micro atx mobos are absolutely fine. in fact, people have been going even smaller to mini itx now, just plug in GPU and play :)

550W is fine. if you're going with the new Nvidia Maxwell GPUs (gts 970 or 980), you'll be significantly under the max capacity. the highend AMD card, R9 290 or 290x draw substantial power, and you'll be a little closer to maxing things out

A. It depends on what you need. Do you need 2 GTX 980s in SLI? Then a microATX might not be for you. Get a motherboard that does what you need it to.

B. You might want a little more juice just to be safe. It's better to have more than you need than less.

Ok cool thank you. Well I am working on a build right now on newegg/amazon and I'm just trying to figure out the best for the cost I'm aiming. I have about 750-850 for the tower/case so I'm tryyyying to get it on the less expensive side I mean honestly I will be doing mostly gaming on league of legends so I don't honestly need anything ridiculous right now. I was thinking somewhere around 200-250 for the video card and building around that.
