I'm planning to upgrade my processor to i5 4690k, and planning to overclock up to maybe 4.6 Ghz, 1.35V. I will also be doing crossfire for two r9 270x vapor x.
I'm considering MSI z97 PC mate, as that's the cheapest board that allows OC for this processor. However, I've read that it wouldn't be good for overclocking since it has only 4 power phases. Some say that the recommended power phases for overclocking an i5 would be 6 power phases. Are there any other boards out there that would have all the features I need for the same price range and better quality? or is MSI PC Mate the best quality MB that I can get for that price?
I don't really know a lot about motherboards and I would really appreciate it if someone would be kind enough to help me with this. I don't want to regret this upgrade in the long run. Thanks!
By the way, I'll be using this setup for gaming.
