Hello, I was wondering if someone knew what to do? I Upgraded from my XFX Radeon R9 270x to ASUS STRIX GTX970. And for some reason im getting lower fps in some games like: CSGO and League.. I dont really know why but could it have something to do with my CPU Bottlenecking the GPU? I've got an AMD FX(tm)-6350 Six-Core Processor (6 CPUs) ~3.9GHz (Could be OC'd to 4,2 i believe) 8GB Ram and a MSI motherboard. Im playing Metro: Last Light fine on High settings but when it comes to highly CPU Based games my GPU isnt really in sync with the FX6350. Should i just buy a complete Intel set? New Motherboard and a CPU? Dont actually know what to do. Sorry my English is kinda bad! x)

PS: On my XFX R9 270x i had constant 250-300 fps. On the GTX 970 I've gotten up to about 400, but when im playing 5v5 it just drops from 250 to 200 and even 180.. Im also using a low resolution which should help out my FPS alot, but it certainly isnt working. I've installed all the NVIDIA Drivers and optimized my games, but it just wont work on the FPS Games. Il guess my CPU is really bad compared to the GTX970, so i should propably uppgrade, right?

yah ur CPU is bottlnecking how ever u should first try this chaning the power settings from adaptive to maximum performance maybe the card is underclocking itself lol i used to play LOL on a Intel Pentium 4 with a weak GPU on mid settings seriously all u need to play LOL is a Potato conected to a 8V battery

also try getting a 212 EVO and overclocking your CPU if u want to switch to intel it is up to you but IMO i would do it now if u can

if ur gonna wait might as well hold off till broadwell/skylake

Bottleneck should not give lower performance - just not all the performance that you could get without it.

As for low resolution - it just creates CPU bottleneck, not the other way around. That's why CPU tests in games are done in 720p.

Yeah well I've played on 1024x768 with Black bars since my early days of Counter Strike: Source. I've also tried out the max resolutions with the GTX970, and im still getting the same results.
