so I'm not a techy person at all first off. My old iMac is very slow and always a pain to sync my iPhone 4s to. I have an Alienware x51 now and I installed iTunes on it. I have almost 60GB to transfer and when I used flash drives, when I play a song it says "cannot locate original file"

I plugged an external hard drive into the iMac and dragged my iTunes media folder into the hard drive and it won't open on my pc? My friend helped me and said he "formatted" the hard drive so I could drag the music into it. So we both can't figure out why it won't open on my pc? When I click on it it shows the properties. When I right click, I can either eject or view properties. What can I do to view the files on my pc?

Hey there, LG000!

You simply need to reformat the external in FAT32 file system in order to use it on both the PC and the iMac.
I can suggest you to check this link with a step-by-step on how to reformat your external:

Afterwards you shouldn't face any issues with the transfer of your music and other files.

Let me know if you need further assistance!
Hope this helps you! :)
