Hi! I want to build a gaming rig. The parts that I want are:

- SSD: 512 Crucial MX100
- GFX Card: Gigabyte GTX 970 G1
- CPU: Intel Core i5 4690K
- CPU Cooler: Corsair H110
- RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3
- Case: NZXT 340
- Power Supply: Corsair CX750M

Which one between the MSI Z97 Gaming 5 and the Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 5 is the best? Are they even compatible with the other parts? Should I get a cheaper motherboard. I just need a motherboard for gaming, that support SLI and SATA Express, in case in the future I want to add a faster SSD.

Since the specs are remarkably similar on both the Gigabyte and MSI board it comes down to how each board looks and which brand you have most confidence in. MSI have the "look" of their board spot on in my view but Gigabyte are seen as a better Motherboard manufacturer certainly with better support. While i have not had any issues with MSI boards in the past i know lots of people that have. I'd take a gamble and choose the MSI Gaming 5!
