Hello everyone, as the title says I would like to hear some suggestions for a new motherboard and cpu, my budget is 350€
I thought of the Asus Sabertooth 990fx(161€) and the Amd fx-6300(107€) thermal paste Noctua NT-H1(8,50€) as for the cooler I'm still undecided( 70-80€?) and yes I want to REALLY OVERCLOCK so that's why I chose the Asus Sabertooth, heard that's really fit to overlock and is one of the most tought motherboards out there, and a fx-6300 is cause I don't have much money right now but I think I'm gonna upgrade it later in the future, btw I hope to OC to 4.5ghz or more
My current rig is:
Cpu: i5-3330 3.00ghz
Gpu: EVGA Gtx 770 SC
Ram: 8gb
PSU:Be Quite! Pure Power 730W
Case: Cooler Master ATX( can't remember the name)
Motherboard: can't remember XD

Also here are some questions I wou like you guys to help me:
1) Is the upgrade recommended?
2) I'm using a Gtx 770, is the fx-6300 OC to at least 4.5ghz gonna let the Gpu run at full power?
3) Water cooling or Air cooling for the best Overclocking?

Btw 350€ budget and thanks for everyone helping me out!

Even if I OC to 4.5ghz?
When I'm playing Battlefield 4 the game sometime drops considerably so I thought it might be the cpu bottlenecking, as for the motherboard im gonna see what model is

I would hands down have to agree with the rest of the comments here.
Im currently running a fx 8350 with an asus crosshair-v formula z running at 4.5 ghz (Msi gtx 970 golden edition for GPU)
Im currently looking into a 5820k build on an x99 setup (for a very clear reason as my current build is holding me back slightly)

I saw this comment a little bit late, but i have somewhere around 800 hours in battlefield 4 on this setup and have a couple framerate dips depending on the map on my cpu. All of my friends on numerous different intel builds do not have this problem, intel just seems to be a clear winner for that game and numerous others.

(off topic) Have you tried running with a custom user.cfg and tweaking a few settings, try the command below under the console window while in game.
renderdevice.renderaheadlimit 1

The problem is that you will spend just as much buying a new motherboard+CPU, and possibly operating system(if yours is an OEM copy), so you are just as well off throwing a higher end i5 or an i7 into your current board.

really? on this Asus P8H61-M LX3 PLUS R2.0 motherboard?

Here is the support list for your current motherboard: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8H61M/HelpDesk_CPU/ It supports all sandy/ivy bridge chips. You may need to update the bios for certain chips though.

ok then what which CPU do you suggest?

The GTX770 is now a discontinued card, and it WAY overpriced for what you get. The GTX970 would be a better buy IMO, and then you can sell your current card to help with the cost. Here is a comparison between the GTX770 and the GTX970: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1037?vs=1355 This way you could stay on your current motherboard and just get a better CPU, and then upgrade to the GTX970 for cheaper than what a GTX770 cost right now new. I'm not including used video cards when I am considering prices, btw.

Your current motherboard has 3+1+1 power phase design , so it s not great for overclocking . i7 3770 costs 286euro but i7 3770K - 333euro . 47 euro , just for overclocking , for me it s not worth . So , for me there ar two options :
1.getting i7 3770 and using the current mobo ;
2.getting i7 4790K or Xeon 1231 V3 and Asus Z97-A .
