Is it worth getting this new GPU?

Hi all,
So I am a gamer looking to improve the performance of his computer. I want to upgrade the GPU because mine is very old; an Ati Radeon HD 5970. I know I want to upgrade the GPU because I asked earlier what I should upgrade. The new card I want to get is a Club 3D Radeon r9 280. So, is it worth buying that card for an upgrade?

The R9 280 is basically the same as a 7950 Boost so it is significantly faster. I would consider it a worthy upgrade, but it's really up to you if it's "worth it".

Rather save money a while longer and get an r9 290 and your game-proof 2-3years (lets be realistic,you dont enen need an upgrade now,I just recently upgraded to a GTX 570,running Crysis 3 High 36-55 fps ,non OC). ..dont bother with r9 280.

If your 5970 can handle Crysis 3 like that (and it should) you are still ok for at least a year. Save money,get the 290.
