PC Turns off after 1 minute after installing new GPU

Hi, today my new GTX 970 arrived and so when I put it in my motherboard and started my pc, it turns off after about 1 minute every time. All the connections seem to be secure, any help?

try uninstalling and reinstalling windows, it may be some sort of software overlap.

It may, is there any chance you didnt have the cables fully plugged, also your psu rail could have been used up

so far so good, all i did was uninstall the previous drivers and software, it wasnt the cables because it gave me an error when i didnt connect them properly on purpose, thanks guys, lets just hope it keeps working :)
