Hello

I bought a FX8350 and the mb and ram.

I havent opened it because I am wondering if I made a good choice. I wonder if I should take it back and buy the i7 4790K. Thing is it will be going out of my budget.

Should I keept this build and save up later for a i7 4790K?

I wanted a pc just for gaming anyway, and maybe the FX8350 can be for that after I get the other pc later this year.

I will use the pc for gaming, graphic design, 3D design, redndering and video editing.

It should work fine for your uses. If you want something more powerful without spending too much more you could get a Xeon 1230 V3 and a matching motherboard. It performs like an i7 without an igpu.

If you have to pay a return fee I would just keep your FX.

if you want a chip thats better for gaming you want the intel with much stronger core performance, 8350 is not particularly a gaming chip, more of a chip for intensive multi-threaded workloads, of which most games are not.

however considering you are going to be doing a number of different tasks and not exclusively gaming your current chip will be very good for them, so its up to you how much you care about gaming in the highest quality / fps.
