I am using windows 7 64bit, 500GB HDD, in which 100GB is for Local Disk (C). My C: drive is getting heaver day by day. I have turned off automatic update for windows & other installed softwares, still it's getting full. Each time I check the free space it's lesser than previous. Now I have uninstalled some softwares from C: drive & amazingly the free space got lowered. I don't know why this is happening, please help...

Solution
have a look around the c: for what folder has used the space. check the properties of each folder and see how big it is. this will tell you where it has gone. once you see where the data is, open that folder and do it again to narrow it down. the space could be used anywhere and this is the easiest (though time consuming) way i know to figure out what is using it. once you know where it is, you can figure out ho to stop it.

Solution
use the cleanup tool..
get rid of old restore points you no longer need..
Delete stuff in windows\temp
delete stuff in C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Temp
decide if you need move "my Documents" / "pictures2 or "Music" depending on your need.
