I recently built my first pc and the first problem i've encountered i believe originated back when my little brother dropped my HHD. It hit hard and i wanted to cry but i installed it anyways knowing it would probably be dead. i also bought a Samsung 120 SSD for my OS. Up until now i didnt realize that all the recently bought games have been saved to it. i was baffeled to see that when i turned on my pc today It said to select a boot device or install one. i had taken out my HHD the day before because there was only 2 drives (SSD and my disk drive) showing up on my computer. and i figured it was dead. then the booting problem today i mentioned before arose. i was shocked to see that when i reinstalled my HHD it booted up fine. even when i have my OS on my SSD. but i still dont understand why i only have my SSD and my disk drive showing up on my drives and devices.

*I have triple checked every connection in the case and 100% sure thats not the issue

Hey there, kilx45!

The other guys are right you most probably left the HDD plugged in when you installed the OS on your SSD.
If you unplug the HDD, the SSD won't boot properly because during the installation process the OS must have become confused and installed a system/recovery partition on your hard drive as well. In order to fix this you will need to reinstall the OS on the SSD without the HDD being plugged in the SATA ports.
The drop however is not a good sign. This means that your WD drive might have been damaged physically.
I'd suggest you to test it using WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics to check up on the health and SMART status.

Always keep a backup of the data though and track the performance of the drive to indicate if there is any kind of damage or corruption.

Hope this was helpful! Keep me posted! :)
