(Sorry for asking!) Is this RAM compatible with my MB?

Hey there,

Sorry for asking such a thread, It know it must get quiet annoying, however I have been searching for an hour and can't find an answer and would like to buy.

(Running 4790k)

As long as you go into the BIOS and change the proper setting to be able to use 2400Mhz RAM there shouldn't be a problem.

It will work and it will fit. The motherboard can handle DDR3-2400 when overclocked. (It says so in the specs.)

That's what I thought, however I just want to be sure before I dump £130 into parts that aren't going to work

No, not out-of-the-box! It will default to whatever the BIOS has (1600) You will need to set the voltage, timings and frequency by hand once you have overclocked your CPU.

Yup, it will work like everyone says, and yeah, you'd have to set the speed yourself in the BIOs, it shouldn't be that hard, I have never done it and got it on first try. And hey, never feel sorry for asking, it is the smart thing to do when you are not sure about something
