Hi,

I have an old computer, which I want to use as a NAS. First I tried to upgrade the processor and it wouldn't boot at all. Later I realized that it was incompatible with my motherboard. Today I have reinstalled the old processor, expecting it to work as it did however when I tried to boot bios flashes up for the normal amount of time however when it usually boots windows the monitor receives no signal. The CPU fan stays on for less than thirty seconds then switches off. So far I have tried using different ram, disconnected the hard drive, reinstalled the GPU and reset the BIOS.

I would really like some help as I am really confused as to what happened. I've checked the pins on the motherboard. Also the motherboard has no on-board graphics.

Thanks in advance. :ange:

Check caps (capacitors) carefully for signs of being "blown up". That's the primary thing for all the "old motherboards" to check if you are starting geting trouble...
