I'm getting ready to move over to a home built tower as I got a R9 270X new for $100 and figure I would utilize it since my old HP (phenom II x4 840T) is...well just old.

I'm looking at $400-500 at most for my setup and would like the best bang for the buck which allows for some room to upgrade as well as utilizing the R9 270x for the the time being.

I've been looking at the FX-6300 and the FX-8350 for CPU's and I believe I'm going to try that route depending on the feedback I have from here.

I need the following:

CPU Choice
Cooler
Motherboard
Storage
Case
PSU ( I do have a 500w PSU right now that will get me by)
Optical
OS- I Plan on running Windows 7
Wireless adapter

Now I do have a pre-built HP as noted above, I'm hoping to get in closer to the $400 range and be able to upgrade a few things over the next 3 or so months. I plan to use what I swap out for another build for my kids so going cheap to get by right now will not go to waste in the end.

Thank you

I already have the video card for the system, so that puts me at ~ $315.00 , any upgrades which I should take note of with the extra $80ish dollars to get it to $400?

I updated the post, didn't see that you had the GPU already. If you want it to really be $400, take out the cooler since unless you're gonna overclock a lot, you won't need it.
