As the title says, I recently uprgaded from an asrock z77 extreme 4 and an i5 2500k to an ASUS Z97-a and a 4790k. I am now getting periodic BSOD crashes and have to reboot. The strange thing is that it never happens when I'm using the computer, only when I've been away from it for a while, and I'll come back to find it off. When I start it up it will ask me to start windows normally and then give me this message when it starts up: http://imgur.com/a/8jKoF

Also, whenever I boot up, regardless of whether I have experienced this problem, there will be a flickering white symbol that looks like this: | on a black background moving around vertically and flickering on the upper left side of the screen for a few seconds after the ASUS BIOS screen. I don't know if this is normal, but my old MB didn't do this.

Anyway, I'm not super knowledgeable about software, so if anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

You're going to need to reinstall Windows. Your problems come from the fact that the OS doesn't recognize the system it's in now.

Thanks for the help. Like I said, I'm not too familiar with software, and this was my first time rebuilding my PC completely on my own. Is it possible to delete my old windows before I re-install, but keep all of my other files, or will it automatically delete my old version of windows when installing the new one? Thanks.
