Hi, i am in need of a new 'gaming' laptop, as my current Acer is getting too old for current games. My price point is around the $1000-1100 range and so far i have found two very interesting models with the following specifications:
Option 1:
Acer Aspire Nitro with: GTX 860M + i5-4210H
Option 2:
MSI GX70 Destroyer with: R9 m290X + A10-5750M
These laptops are in the same price range, so there is no difference in price at my retailer.
Now the second option immediately sounded more attracting as it has a very good GPU, but i've also read alot of dreadful stories of the A10 severely bottlenecking the m290X in some cases.
Can you please help me decide? For which type/brand of games is the first option superior to the second option and vice versa? I've been racking my brains for the last couple of days but i can't come to a conclusion.
I'd be delighted if someone could shed some light on this case and help me out. Thanks
(I am mainly looking to play Simulation & Rpg games like Guild Wars, FSX, ETS2, Far Cry etc.)
