Was wondering if this build I have is good at all. I looked up some parts here and there but this will be my first computer I will ever build. Normally I would buy a new laptop but now I can't stand getting round 3fps lagging in one spot. Or editing a video and taking a year to render it. I also would like to start streaming some also. If anyone makes changes to the build I would really like too have a well thought out reason behind everything you change. Also I have a $2000 budget it that helps you sort out some things. Also upon building this I will proceed to smash my laptops for the hassle they have given me. =]

Yep - will work just fine.

Minor point - I'd rather a bit bigger case. The S340 is made to fit NZXTs Kraken coolers. Not sure about H100i

Yeah I thought about getting a bigger case however I couldn't decide on which one so i just went with the s340. But do you have any recommendations? Also what could I do to improve it further?

tidied up, skinned down for any wasted money and replaced anything that was unreliable or overpriced added SLI - you should be good to go.
happy building.

Any reason why 8.1 over 7? Also thanks for the suggestions on (sli) now I noticed the cases but which provides the best of everything a case has too offer? I also noticed everyone bumping up the psu. An reason behind that? Also I heard that anything over 1tb hard drives have issues is that true or could that just be some faulty drives some people had received?

@unstressing:
windows 7 has stopped receiving automatic support from microsoft. furthermore for fps, windows 8.1 is better.
the corsair 450D I believe is the best looking and most versatile case for its class at a decent price, however the nzxt phantom 410s are also a cracking series for slightly cheaper.
people are bumping up the psu just to allow for easier sli in the future so you don't have to waste money on buying a whole new one.
that sounds like some bogus rumours.

Nice information now I can stock up on some terabyte drives without worry. So win 8.1 is better for fps and such however why does it get so much hate then? hmmm so if i get a 750w would that be enough for sli? Also I think figuring out which case to get is by far the hardest thing out of the entire build so far 0,0 so many options to choose from. Has anyone found anything that isn't mainstream and has remained under the radar because it seems as though everyone and there cats and dogs either now have nzxt,fratual,therma, or corsair.

windows 8 gets hate - mainly because of the myriad of bugs, 8.1 fixed most of them so far.
I would prefer 850W just because you're overclocking. besides you don't save much money in changing down by 100 watts whilst still being reliable.
people use those cases for a reason - they're quality cases. I don't understand the obsession with being indie and different - be efficient.
