Alright, so I am all new to this and everything, so pardon me if I am just plain stupid.
Alright, so I have a gaming PC that shuts down after about 30 or so minutes of paying games such as Skyrim and Counterstrike:Source.
By shutting down I mean the screen just freezers, the mouse won't move, the time won't move, and the keyboard does nothing. Not even control plus alt plus delete does a thing. The computer still remains on though, but nothing at all will move. I also have tried turning the monitor off and on again to no avail.
The thing here is, I don't think it's overheating. After it shuts down I unplug it and then place my hand in the motherboard, it is not at all hot. I also do not know the temperature.
The reason I think it is a PSU Problem is because the PSU only gives 600 Watts. Is that enough? Oh and the computer is plugged into a wall outlet. Everything else is plugged into a surge box thing .
I also tried launching Counterstrike:Source while keeping track of the "CPU usage". Once it got to 28% it froze. I am not sure if it is related or not to the problem. I'm not even sure what the CPU usage thing is. I also only did do this test once.
Here are the computer specs:
-Thermaltake Overseer Full Tower Case
-AMD FX-950 CPU
-ASUS Crosshair V Formula
-8 GB DDR3-1600 Memory Module
-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
-600 WATT power supply(PSU)
-Corshair Hydro Series H60 Liquid CPU Cooling System
-500 GB Hard drive
And I think that's all that's needed, tell me if you need more info.
Additional info:
-I got the computer from ibuypower
-I have not activated my version of windows seven yet. (I seem to have misplaced the code)
-I have also been told that my water cooler has no water in it from some tech guy. (I don't know if it's true or not)
