So i am doing a little scrypt mining with my Powercolor PCS+ R9 290, and want to know what a safe temperature for 24/7 mining would be.

I am currently running it at 70 C, would that be too high? What sort of lifetime could i expect from 70 Celsius?

Solution
70 is not bad for a gpu, although i do not know what you could be doing to have it run 70C 24/7. i know the 290 and 290x can get much hotter in the 80s mid at max If you really need it to be running constantly, i would recommend getting a GPU bracket to watercool it, it will run 20C cooler and will extend the life of the card. make sure if you do get a bracket like the nzxt gpu one, you get the fan to cool the vrms on it and keep solid airflow across it as well

70C isn't bad for 24/7 mining but make sure you have some good fans blowing. What I see go wrong on mining cards is that the other components on the PCB fail due to longterm heat (like capacitors). If possible, keep GPU fan on 100%.
