Should I use this slightly defective motherboard or buy a new one?

A year and a half ago my brother got a prebuild computer shipped to him and the only defect it had was one of the 2 graphic card slots on the motherboard didn't work. Is it a bad idea to use this motherboard (gigabyte z87x-d3h) for my build? Anything I should look out for or pay extra attention to? I'm not 100% sure which slot is the defective one (there's a good chance it's the bottom one according to my brother).

Now I really wanna save the 100$+ but if it really is a bad idea, could someone recommend me a good motherboard from http://www.memoryexpress.com/ to go with my build? Please make sure it's instock in Edmonton North.
